These features make California a dream destination for anglers from all over the United States and beyond the country’s borders. The large state has over 840 miles of Pacific coastline, more than 3000 lakes, over a hundred rivers, mild weather all year round, and shorelines lined with dense vegetation that allows the fish population to prosper. But rarely does California come up in a conversation about fishing. Now, I land most fish in less than a few minutes.California, also referred to as the golden state, is famous for many things Disneyland, the over 200 national parks present in the state, its place in the Hollywood scene, San Francisco, wine, and many other things. Once I learned how to do this it completely changed the game for me. Using this technique you should find condition depleats more evenly between pole, reel and line, given you are using a properly matched setup. This will also save a bit of wear and tear on your reel, which will drop in contition quite fast if you are constantly reeling in against the drag. pull when it pulls and reel when it stops taking out line and you'll bring them in fairly quickly. THAT is when you reel in some line until it starts taking out again. No sense trying to reel in at this point so just pull back until the fish gets tired for a few moments. If the fish goes deep, it can gain traction and pull away. Of course, the goal is to bring the fish to the surface where you gain the advantage. If you time it right you can repeat this and get into a nice rythm, bringing the fish in closer and closer. Pull up on the rod until it goes as high as you can raise it, then drop the end of the pole while quickly reeling in. Wait till the fish stops taking out line and only then reel in until you hear the drag start ticking, then again, stop relling and start pulling. in other words, don't reel in while the fish is pulling and instead pull up on the rod to give the fish resistance. If you are reeling in while the fish is taking out line, then the fish gains advantage and takes out even more line. The fish tiring depends on how you fight them with reeling in and pulling up on the rod.
